Barely two weeks after the All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders in the state, endorsed the Adamawa state Governor, Senator Bindowo as the sole Governorship candidate for the 2019 general elections, the chairmen of the 21 local government councils and 52 area administrators and councilors, last Thursday also endorsed the state’s chief executive.
Led by the chairman of the state branch of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Barrister Aliyu Wakili Boya, said that the endorsement was in recognition of the fact that the Governor has performed beyond the expectation of the people.
‘’We have recorded tremendous progress in the state under the leadership of the incumbent Governor, as we are speaking , 17 of the 21 local government councils are withnessing road constructions, schools reinnovations and hospital upgradement.’’
“We realise that you are the only sealable candidate in 2019 and we are here to pledge our total loyalty and commitment to your coming back in 2019’’.
Boya, told the Governor , that the forum of chairmen and councilors as
well as the area administrators are ready to be the foot soldiers of the governor come the general elections as they are grassroot of the state where development is most needed.
The Governor in his response said the endorsement would rekindle his commitment towards the transformation of the state and ask the forum to continue to pray for the wellbeing of President Mohammed Buhari to succeed as the president was a unifying factor sustaining peace and unity in the country.
It would be recalled that this third endorsement in the last two weeks calling on Governor Bindow to recontest the 2019 governorship election.
APC stakeholders in the state, led by Senator Jonathan Zwingina including serving members of the national assembly had a two weeks ago converged in yola to endorse Bindowo for the 2019 elections. The party national officers visiting the state led by Comrade Mustafa Salihu, the national vice chairman, North East, assured the Governor that going by the performance of Bindow, it would be difficult to deny him a return ticket.
He said the APC was interested in developing the country and therefore any Governor who performed lie Governor Bindow would be encouraged to continue the good work. And directed the state chapter of the party to work closely with the Governor.
The state chapter of the party, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal Moda, had ealier endorsed President Mohammed Buhari and Governor Bindowo for the 2019 general elections, and endorsement which triggered protest from Atiku Abubakar supporters.
