Barely 24 hours to the highly anticipated second edition of the DAILY ASSET annual awards for 2018, eminent Nigerians from diverse backgrounds have continued to identify with the prestigious event.
The annual awards, the second in the series, will be held at the exclusive Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja under the distinguished chairmanship of the former Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico and High Commissioner to Canada, Prof Iyorwuese Hagher.
As the clock ticks towards what promises to be one of the most colourful and enviable yearly honours to be conferred on Nigerians and corporate bodies who have distinguished themselves in various areas of human endeavour in the past twelve months, all eyes are on the lucky winners who will receive their golden prizes on Tuesday.
Top on the list of these winners is the dynamic Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara, who will be deservedly crowned as Man of the Year 2018. He will share the honour with the Governor of Bayelsa State ,Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson.
In the same vien, four state governors will take a bow tomorrow as joint winners of the Governor of the Year 2018. These are Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue), Mohammed Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Umar Jibrilla Bindow (Adamawa), and Udom Emmanuel (Akwa lbom). This is just as the Politcian of the year Awards will be shared by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrad Adams Oshiomhole and the governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
Also to be honoured as winners of the Excellence in Public Service award was won by three quintessential public servants. They include Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Executive Secretary, Pensions Transition Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Ms Sharon Ikeazor.
The Group Managing Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maitanti Baru and the Registrar, Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede emerged joint winners of the Chief Executive Officer of the year category, while The DAILY ASSET Banker of the year award went to the Managing Director of Sterling Bank Plc, Mr. Suleiman Abubakar.
Also nominated was the Managing Director of H- Medix Pharmacy & Stores, Alhaji Hassan Ishaq, who emerged Business Man of the Year.
Other award winners include: Barr Seyi Akinwumi; Vice President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sportsman of the year; Late Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje, young person of the year.
The corporate awards went to the following organisations: Global Accelerex and Backbone Connectivity Network emerged joint winners of the ICT/Telecomms Company of the Year; Innoson Motors Nig Ltd and China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCEC) were picked as joint winners for the Company of the Year category.
