APC Guber Candidates, State Chairmen, Pass Vote of Confidence on Oshiomhole, NWC

By Gabriel Atumeyi

The consultative meeting of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC), compromising of members of the National Working Committee of the party as well party’s governorship candidates, state chairmen and state secretaries held yesterday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja passed a vote of confidence on the Adams Oshiomhole-led national working committee. The meeting also resolved that party leaders must campaign for all candidates of the party, whether at the presidential, governorship and legislative positions. The party decried a situation where leaders engage in selective support by picking and choosing candidates to campaign for and support, saying such is anti-party activity.

During the meeting, the Enugu State chairman, Ben Nwoye distanced the state chapter from the condemnable actions and utterances of a senatorial aspirant in the state, Mr. Osita Okechukwu.

The meeting condemned attempts by some party leaders to polarise the party in some states following post-primary disputes and called on governorship candidates to run an issue-based and inclusive campaign by bringing onboard former aspirants and keying into the ongoing peace and reconciliation efforts undertaken by the National Working Committee (NWC)

It also urged party faithful to further  the re-election crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration by showcasing his achievements in all the states of the federation.
