Barely 48 hours after a group under the aegis of the Concerned Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gave the National Caretaker Committee a 14- days ultimatum to kickstart the process of convening a national convention, the state chairmen of the party have passed a vote of confidence on the committee led by the Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni.
Meanwhile, Buni while addressing the meeting hinted on the need to commence a nationwide membership drive to further strengthen the party which he also boasted is waxing stronger.
While reeling out his achievements, he said that apart from reconciling most of the warring factions in many states, the party has also opened up a channel where every member would be free to ventilate their feelings.
At a well attended meeting of the chairmen with the Chairman of the Caretaker Committe at the party’s Secretariat, chairman of the Bornu state chapter of the party, Alhaji Bukar Dalori who also doubles as the chairman of the chairmen said Buni and his team have done so well and deserve the support of every member of the party.
He questioned the real intention of the group even as he warned that the chairmen will not allow anyone no matter how highly placed to derail the Caretaker Committee whom he insisted is working in the interest of the party.
Dalori further added that already the party is getting more united, with more people joining adding that the success of the APC in the Ondo State governoship election is a reflection of its successes.
