Banditry: 27 Military, Police Officers Feared killed in Niger

A total of 27 Military and police officers  on a joint operation against  banditry  in Shiroro local government Area of Niger state wer reportedly killed in an ambush  at Galadimakogo and Garikogo communities.

Chairman of Shiroro Concerned Youth Forum, Comrade  Bello Ibrahim  said the gallant officers paid the supreme price,  while defending the communities, which have come under incessant banditry attack.
 ” I can authoritatively  confirm to you that  some 27 Military and police officers on joint operation along  the Lakpma axis of Shiroro local government were killed”
“Although, we have sketchy  details of the circumstances surrounding their  death  but, we have pictorial  evidence to prove the incident infact, their  remains are already with the relevant  authorities” 

The Chairman, who was speaking at a briefing on the condition at the Internally displaced  person’s camp at Shiroro  decried the sub human  conditions some of the IDPS  were living at the camp.

However, when contacted, the Niger state police  public  relation offices, ASP  Wasiu Abiodun denied the figure saying he was only aware of one death.

” All I can confirm  to you is that,  one person died from the area, you can contact the Defence headquarters  for further information. 

Bello Ibrahim had explained That, 44 communities were currently under consistent  banditry  attack as at 9th of December 2019 comprising  of 8 wards in Lakpma  axis of Shiroro local government Area.
