Bello, Dalung line up As Festival Torch Arrives FCT Today

Minister of FCT Mallam Musa Mohammed Bello and his colleague Barrister Solomon Dalung of Youth and Sports Department will be on their marks to receive the National Sports Festival 2018 Torch on its arrival in Abuja today to usher in the Festival.

The Festival Torch will be first received by Abaji Area Council Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya at the the Giri junction around 11:00 am, who will in turn present the to his Kwali Area Council countrpart, Mr Joseph  Shazim at the University of Abuja main gate.

Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze would receive the Torch tagged ‘Torch of Unity’ from Mr Joseph Shazim at the Kuje junction before handing it over to Kuje Area Council chairman, Mr. Abdulrahman Galadima at Lugbe junction.

Galadima will then hand it to Bwari Area Council Chairman, Mr Musa Dikko at Chika junction before Abuja Municipal Area Council chairman, Malam Abdullahi Candido receives and hands it over to FCT Director of Sports Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyendinma at the Unity Gate.

Mrs Onyedimma will as well give the torch to Social Development Secretariat Secretary, Barr. Amanda Iyabode Pam who will in turn hand it to Permanent Secretary Ministry of FCT, Sir. Chinyeaka C. Ohaa.

Sir Ohaa will hand the Festival Torch to Minister of FCT, Malam Musa Muhammed Bello.

The FCT minister will after running a 50 meters race and hand it over to the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung who will hand it over to the Main Organising Committee (MOC) Chairman and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Sports , Adeshola Olushade.

The movement of the Festival Torch within Abuja which starts 11:00 am will end by 2:00pm.

The 2108 National Sports Festival’s Opening Ceremony kicks off with displays and march past by all participating athletes.
