The Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has embraced grassroots mobilization for success come 2019.
Ntufam Edim Inok Edim, state chairman of the party in Cross River State, disclosed this yesterday at the party’s secretariat while inaugurating various campaign groups in his office.
According to him, the strategy for the 2019 election is to focus on the benefits inherent in grassroots mobilization, using community opinion leaders.
According to him, “People who are well known, credible and living in a particular community would be able to favourably represent the party in those communities.
“There are people who are already known and respected in their communities and when they speak, people are likely to understand and believe them. In short, those people are like authentic ambassadors of the party in those communities”.
Speaking with journalists shortly after their inauguration, Eric Akpo, chief executive officer, Cross River State Youths For Ayade & Atiku, (CRYFAA) said that Nigeria must remain one indivisible country.
According to the CRYFAA boss “for Nigeria to remain one country without any ethnic bias, Nigeria needs a party that understands what the country needs-restructuring. Nigeria needs to address the things that divide us now more that those things that unite the country.
“Nigeria needs the party that understands the problems facing us. Nigeria needs the party that says the country needs to sit down again on the round table and discuss the Nigeria Federation and that party is PDP”, he said.
Eric also said that CRYFAA, has over 20,000 members that cuts across the 18 local government areas in the state and various chapters.
The CRYFAA CEO appealed to Nigerians to support the ideology of the state governor, Ayade and the presidential candidate of PDP Atiku Abubarkar who has the vision, capacity to address the problems of Nigeria. END
