A 29-year-old man, Yusuf Dahiru, on Tuesday asked the Sharia Court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna to help him recover his plot of land from one Abubakar Baffa. who had began erecting a building on it.
The complainant who resides at Barakallahu in Kaduna told the court that he had bought the piece of land from one Muhammad Maidubun-tsumma in 2018 at the cost of N150,000.
“Few months after laying foundation on my land, I met Abubakar building on the land without my knowledge,” he told the court.
Dahiru therefore prayed the court to compel Abubakar Baffa to stop further erection of a building on the land located at Rigasa, and evacuate from the site as soon as possible.
In his defence, the defendant said he also purchased the land in 2018 from one Mama Iya, whom he claimed to be the original owner of the plot of land.
Baffa told the court that the transaction was witnessed by the district head of Rigasa among others.
The Judge, Musa Sa’ad-Goma after listening to both parties asked if they all possess the land document, to which they answered in the affirmative.
He therefore ordered them to present before the court the title documents and those they bought the land from on the next adjourned date.
The judge also ordered that the district head of Rigasa, who stood in as witness in the transaction involving Baffa, to be present in court on Jan. 16, when hearing in the case would continue.
