COVID-19: Kebbi Sustains Ban on Boundaries -Taskforce Chairman

Following the global outbreak of the dreaded coronAvirus also known as Covid-19 and its infiltration in African  countries particularly Nigeria, several States in the country had scaled up efforts to contain it, measures taken states to states include partial and total lockdown depending on the its spread.

In Kebbi state measures were taken by the state government to ensure the state does not record a single case.

To actualise this a task force was immediately appointed comprising experienced health personnel from the state ministry of health, the task force is headed by the commissioner of health Mohammed Ja,afaru.

It was mandated to ensure absolute compliance to the measures put in place by the state government. In  a chat with DAILY ASSET, the task force chairman who is also the commissioner of health Muhammed Ja,afar said the task force was aware of people who were trying to gain entrance into the state despite the border closure.

He said he has despatched a team to Kamba, Kangiwa and sokoto border lines to ensure no one comes into the state.Muhammed explained that hand sanitisers have been made available at the markets, motor parks and hospitals in the state to ensure the safety of the citizens even as market hours has been reduced to encourage social distancing at all public places in the state.

He reiterated government’s commitment to safeguard lives of citizens which he said was paramount and urged the people in the state to protect themselves by following the laid down rules of personal hygiene and limit contacts.
