Barrister Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) was born on 1 September, 1963 in Kogi State. He gained a degree in law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985. A year later, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in October, 1986. Adoke was elevated as SAN in 2006. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in International Tax Law (RKU, Zurich) and a PGD in International Commercial Law (Nottingham). More to his academic credit, Adoke acquired Diploma in International Arbitration from Ke-ble College, Oxford.
Adoke started his public service career with Kwara State School’s Management Board and later joined the Kano State Ministry of Justice. While in Kano, he served as Chairman, Kano Branch, Nigerian Bar Associa-tion (2004-2006). He was also Chairman, National Bar Centre Committee, Nigerian Bar Association, as well Member, National Committee on Reform and Harmoni-sation of Arbitration Laws in Nigeria (2008). Barrister Adoke in 2008 held the position of the Chairman, Judges Forum, Nigerian Bar Association. Barrister Mohammed Bello Adoke was appointed and served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation under President Goodluck Jonathan (2010-2015).
