The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has approved the appointment of new Commissioners of Police for seven states and police formations in parts of the country.
In a statement on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mbah gave the names of the newly posted officers as follows: CP Undie J. Adie(Osun); CP Johnson Babatunde Edo State ; CP Lawal Jimeta Tanko Kokumo, mni(Bauchi); CP Philip Sule Maku, fdc(Ebonyi);CP Ahmed Maikudi Shehu(Gombe);CP Bolaji Amidu Salami(Ondo);CP Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu(Oyo); while CP Evelyn T.Peterside was posted to the Eastern Port Command.
Also affected by the posting, the statement said areCP Okon Etim Ene, fdc(EOD); CP Bello Maikwashi(Airport Command) and CP Olukolu Tairu Shina for the Anti-Fraud Unit (FCID Annex Lagos) .
The Inspector General of Police charged the newly posted officers to ensure they consolidated and advanced the gains of their predecessors particularly in the implementation of community-policing, crime prevention, public security, public safety and general crime fighting, the statement said.
“The IGP also enjoins the citizens of the affected states to cooperate with the Commissioners of Police to enable them succeed in their new areas of responsibilities,” it added.
