Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah has disclosed that late Senator Mustapha Bukar representing Katsina North Senatorial district used to deliver messages from him to the presidency and mediate between the two arms
He stated this at the valedictory session held in honour of the late lawmaker on Wednesday.
He said: “each time I got borthered over issues between the Senate and presidency, and I didn’t know how to reach Mr. President, I send the late Senator.”
He said, the late Mustapha who directly represented President Muhammadu Buhari was close to him and has ears of the President.
“Mr. President, distinguished colleagues, let me reveal something that will amaze you. Each time I feel concerned about issues between the Senate and Executive and I didn’t know how to reach Mr President, I send him.”
Senator Mustapha Bukar was Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market and died last week in Abuja hospital
At the valedictory session, Senators took turns to eulogise his qualities, particularly as a man of peace who worked hard to see that there was healthy relationship between the executive and the legislature.
