Zamfara state Governor, Bello Matawalle of has reiterated his commitment to encourage the law enforcement agencies to deal ruthlessly with any person found fueling crisis in the state.
Matawalle seized the opportunity of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration to make a reminder that his warning cut across gender, age and social strata in the society from lowest to highest position one may occupy.
The governor who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, gave the assurance that his administration would continue to attach major priority to the issue of security,.
”My administration will do everything possible to curb the menace in efforts to return sustainable peace in the state” he stressed.
He urged every citizen of the state to, as stakeholders to endeavour to assist the security agencies with vital information that would facilitate the project of dealing with the remaining security threats in the state.
He however, reminded the security agencies to, in the course of discharging their responsibilities, adhere and operate within the ambits of local and international laws by showing compassion and respect for the law abiding citizens.
In the case of the repentant bandits, Matawalle assured them of a satisfactory reciprocative gesture by providing them with social amenities like Hospitals, formal and non-formal education, veterinary clinics, earths Dams and boreholes as well as many other conveniences for their welfare.
He then pledged his support for the members of the Nigerian Legion and promised to give maximum assistance to the members, while calling on the individual wealthy members of the society and corporate organisations to also assist the Nigerian Legion generously.
