The recently concluded Council polls had the participation of seven political parties in the elections with the exception of the main- opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, the SIEC Chairman in announcing winners of the concluded Council elections could not state the number of votes polled by the emerging winners as well as the participating political parties.
It would be recalled that PLASIEC barred the PDP citing a judgement that some members of the party secured against the leadership of the party last year.
The PDP challenged their exclusion by the High Court and appealed at the Appeal Court Jos Division but lost at both levels as the 17 newly elected Executive Chairmen and the 325 Counselors are billed to be sworn-in.
Governor Simon Lalong will perform the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Chairmen today, Monday 11th October 2021 at the Victoria Gowon Hall of the New Government House, Little Rayfield Jos.
