Armed Robbers who attacked and robbed the priest in charge of Saint Augustine’s Catholic Parish, Demekpe in Makurdi Catholic Diocese of Benue State, Rev.
The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Solomon Ukeyima, who disclosed this to DAILY ASSET, said one of the robbers that invaded the parish house in the early hours of Monday, kept begging for forgiveness after picking each item.
He said the robbers were calm throughout the less than one hour operation, as one of them speaks in “impeccable English” language.
“I love the confidence and the calmness in them. One of them, for anything he picked, he would say, forgive us Father,” Father Ukeyima said.
He explained the robbers broke into his bedroom at about 2:00am, having scaled the perimeter fence to the Parish House and the window to the priest’s parlour.
“None of them covered their faces,” Fr. Ukeyima noted; even though he could not recognise any one of them.
“They only shot in the air twice, after they were with my brother priests that spent a night with me as they were about leaving,” Fr. Ukeyima added.
They made away with proceeds of the family thanksgiving by four families, offertory, phones, selected foot wears, sound system and some drinks, DAILY ASSET understands.
Fr. Ukeyima asked for prayers for the robbers to change from their evil ways, saying he has since forgiven them.
“I have forgiven them and I ask others to also pray for them. They are young people. There is one of them that was speaking impeccable English (language). Let them make a complete u-turn and put to good use the talent that they have,” the priest concluded.
