Wamakko Sponsors 40 for NCE Programme

Lawmaker representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has sponsored 40 indigent students to Biga College of Education, Sokoto, to undergo various three year National Certificate in Education (NCE), courses.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani, and issued to journalists in Sokoto.

The statement noted that, Senator Wamakko, who is also the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, distributed the admission letters personally to the benefiting students recently.

It added that the beneficiaries were drawn from the 23 local governments of the state.

According to the statement priority attention was given to the educationally – disadvantaged local governments of Illela, Gudu and Silame.

Noting that the gesture was to shore up the educational development of the state and Nigeria in general.

The law maker admonished the students to strive to excel in their studies, so as to be useful to themselves, their families and the state.

He announced that, the payment of the monthly upkeep allowances to the students would commence on Tuesday, while a befitting accommodation will be provided for those who hail from outside Sokoto city and its environs.

Senator Wamakko further disclosed that, he is currently sponsoring hundreds of students in Pakistan, Ghana, Cotonou, Sudan, Cyprus, Niger Republic, Uganda, Ilorin and Abeokuta, in Kwara and Ogun States, respectively.
