Nigerian Grammy winning artiste, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has become the first Nigerian artiste to surpass four billion views on YouTube.

The milestone was achieved through the combined views of music videos and other content on the artiste’s official YouTube channel.

The development underscores the global appeal of Burna Boy’s music and the growing international reach of Afrobeats.

The singer’s catalogue includes popular songs such as “Ye,” “On the Low,” “Last Last” and “For My Hand”, which have collectively attracted hundreds of millions of views on the video-sharing platform.

Burna Boy had earlier made history in 2021 by becoming the first Nigerian artiste to surpass one billion total views on YouTube.

The achievement comes amid a series of international milestones recorded by the artiste, whose music has continued to attract audiences across Africa, Europe, North America and other parts of the world.

Industry observers say the achievement reflects the increasing role of digital platforms in taking Nigerian music to a global audience.

Also, the milestone places Burna Boy among the leading African artistes on YouTube and sets a new benchmark for Nigerian music. (NAN)

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Neche said she believes she could have won the show if she had stayed, citing the overwhelming public support she received after her exit.

In an interview with Pulse, Neche reflected on her mindset during the competition and the reception she received after leaving the house.

”Honestly, at week two, I was convinced I could win the show, but, I mean, that was just every regular housemate’s conviction,” Neche stated.

The reality star said the level of support from fans outside the house far exceeded her expectations.

“I was surprised as to what I saw outside, mind you. It was like times ten of what I expected… I thought to myself like, ‘I might not win, but I can get to the finals?’ So yeah, I think I would have won. Even now more so”, she added.

Neche voluntarily walked away from the show and the N160 million grand prize.

She attributed the decision to personal circumstances but declined to give details.

“I feel like there were personal circumstances and a lot of situation that led to my decision, the detail I would like to keep private but at the same time I’m very confident about my decision I’m at peace with it,” she said.

On forfeiting the prize money, Neche acknowledged its weight and that she had envisioned staying longer.

However, she maintained that she does not regret choosing herself.

“Honestly, I don’t regret choosing myself above everything else because at the end of the day you are what matters but 160 million was a lot of money. I had also envisioned myself staying in the house longer,” she added.

Content creator and comedian, Prophet Rolex, has broken his silence after being called out for previously promoting the visa services of Ifeanyi Onukwubiri, the CEO of TMT Travels and Tours, who is currently facing allegations of defrauding visa applicants.

Reacting to the controversy, Prophet Rolex appealed to those affected, insisting he never knew the situation would turn out the way it did.

“Please, to all the victims of the TMT visa scam, forgive me.

I had no idea the whole issue would turn out this way. However, since the matter is currently with security operatives, I’m sure you will get your money back.
My ambassadorial contract with him was from 2022 to 2024,” he said.

The content creator also clarified that his relationship with TMT Travels and Tours was strictly based on an ambassadorial agreement and that he was not involved in the company’s operations. He stated that he distanced himself from the firm after becoming aware of the allegations against it.

Prophet Rolex’s statement comes amid growing public scrutiny following reports that security agencies are investigating complaints from several individuals who allegedly paid for visa processing services through TMT Travels and Tours.

The comedian had previously served as a brand ambassador for the travel agency, with reports showing that his endorsement deal was renewed in 2023 after an earlier partnership with the company.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G, has said it is wrong for parents to completely shield their children from hardship and hard work.

According to her, the fastest way to ruin a child’s life is by preventing them from experiencing hardship or working hard.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality, Femi Baba, Mama G recalled that she once evicted her son from home so he could go out and make a living for himself.

She said, “The fastest way to ruin a child’s life is to say you don’t want them to suffer the way you did.

“When you’re gone, they may start fighting over your property. I told my son, ‘My house isn’t yours. Go and work for your own.’”

Ozokwor explained that because she raised her children with discipline and hard work, they were doing well.

The movie icon urged parents not to deny their children the experience of struggle and hard work because of their love for them.
