The Galadiman Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi in Katsina State, Justice Sadiq Abdullahi Mahuta, has called on Nigerians to join hands with their leaders to ensure rapid socioeconomic and political growth in the country.

The traditional ruler made the call when officials of the newly formed Malumfashi Development Association, led by its chairman, Alhaji Salisu Bawa, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Malumfashi on Tuesday.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the association, Malam Tukur Muntari, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

Mahuta, a retired Chief Judge of Katsina State, stressed the need for Nigerians to embrace selfless service to their communities to enhance economic growth and development at the grassroots.

He said, “There is need for people in our community to enhance the development of Malumfashi because the government alone cannot shoulder the full responsibility.

”The town has people living within and outside the state who can contribute their quota towards the socio-economic development of the community.

“Malumfashi is known for its highly committed industrious people who are living peacefully in other states pursuing their legitimate businesses and other endeavours.”

The Galadiman Katsina urged officials of the association to be focused in order to achieve set objectives while calling on them to promote peace and live above board.

“For me, community development is about trying to improve the lives of the people and the community in general through community oriented programmes,” Mahuta added.

The district head pledged to support the association to enhance the development of the area.

Earlier, the interim Chairman said the visit was to brief the district head on the formation of the association and its objectives.

Bawa said membership of the association include active and retired civil servants, and businessmen and women among others.

He said that the officials had visited the Chairman of Malumfashi Local Government, Alhaji Maharazu Dayi, and explained the motive behind the formation of the association.

The interim chairman presented the three-year plan to the district head during the visit.( NAN)
