Access Bank has partnered Visa, the official payment services partner of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, to reward its customers with a trip to watch live matches.

The partnership offers customers the opportunities to win tickets for an all-expense-paid trip to Qatar and to win other consolation prizes.

The Deputy Managing Director, Access Bank, Chizoma Okoli, made this known during the launch of the campaign on Tuesday in Lagos.

Okoli said that the campaign was an opportunity for the bank to give back to its loyal cardholders whilst strengthening the relationship with Visa for future partnerships.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Visa to bring the FIFA World Cup 2022™ closer to our loyal customers,” she said.

Okoli added that the participation guidelines were very simple for the bank customers to win tickets for the Qatar trip and enjoy consolation prizes.

“Our customers need to perform three transactions of a minimum of N15,000 on POS or Web with their Visa cards to qualify for the all-expense paid trip for two to Qatar to watch the FIFA World Cup 2022™ LIVE.

“Access Visa cardholders also stand a chance to win other exciting consolation prizes. The more our customers use their Access Visa cards with a minimum of N15,000 per transaction, the more chances they have of winning the Golden Ticket to Qatar,” Okoli said.

Also speaking, Mr Robert Giles, Senior Retail Advisory, Access Bank, said that the bank was pleased to partner Visa to bring the biggest event in the world closer to her customers.

Giles said that customere could also request for FIFA design Visa Debit cards in addition to winning consolation prizes and all-expense paid trip courtesy of Visa.

“Our customers can also connect to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ by walking into any of our branches nationwide to request for a brand new personalised limited edition FIFA design Visa card.

“This can be a fresh request or replacement for an existing valid Visa Debit card. The offer is not restricted to existing customers as new customers can simply open an Access bank account by dialling *901# from their phone and follow the prompt.

“Intending customers can also visit the nearest Access Bank branch to open a new account, signup for their limited edition FIFA branded Visa card, activate it instantly and start transacting for a chance to win in the Road to Qatar promotion,” he said.

The Country Manager, Visa Nigeria, Mr Andrew Uaboi, said that Visa would be celebrating the spirit of football in Qatar and looking forward to showcasing the future of digital payments with fans from Nigeria and the rest of the world.

“As the Official Payment Services Partner of FIFA, Visa is proud to partner with Access Bank to bring the thrill and excitement of this event to Nigerian fans who will be able to enjoy an experience of a lifetime,” Uaboi said.

Newsmen report that the campaign will run from July to December 2022 with over 500 customers to be rewarded across Nigeria. (NAN)

The Forum of Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has decried the deplorable condition of some federal roads in Nigeria. Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the North-Central Chairman of the forum, said this in an interaction with newsmen on Wednesday in Jos. Zazzaga described some of the federal roads as ”death traps”, particularly those within the north-central region.

He said that some of the deplorable roads in the region include Jos-Akwanga, Makurdi-Oturkpo-Otukpa, Makurdi-Ankpa, and Jos-Saminaka.
Other roads that needed urgent attention, he said, included Suleja-Minna, Ejule-Otukpa, Ganawuri-Manchok, Lokoja-Abuja, Lapai-Agaie-Bida, Birnin-Gwari-Bokani-Mokwa, Minna-Zungeru-Tegina-Kontagora.
”Currently, the north-central region has the most deplorable roads and highways in the country. ”These deplorable roads have brought severe hardship on the people and lost lives and property through preventable road traffic crashes. ”We call on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and ensure the rehabilitation of these roads because good roads are vital enablers of development,” he said. The chairman also called on governors of states within the region to reconstruct the dilapidated roads and seek refunds from the federal government. ”Though these are largely federal roads, they are located within states, and the beneficiaries are the people of these states. ”So we call on state governments to reconstruct these roads and seek refunds from the federal government,” he added.
