The All Progressive Congress (APC), has swept the 21 Local Government Chairmanship seats and 239 councillorship slots in Kogi in the election held on Saturday

Mr Mamman Nda-Eri, Chairman, Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), who announced the results in Lokoja, said the election was peaceful, free, fair and credible.

Report says that among the elected local government chairmen was a woman that clinched the seat in Ogori-Magongo Local Government.

“APC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing to the other 18 political parties that took part in the election.

“The results declared at the headquarters were earlier declared at the various collations centres by the respective Returning Officers.

“As Chairman of KOSIEC, I hereby confirm the results earlier collated and returned by the Returning Officers,” he said.

He thanked the electoral officials, security operatives, observers and newsmen for their support that made the election a success.(NAN)

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has addressed speculations about his 2027 presidential ambition, stating that he’s old enough to declare his intentions when the time comes.

Makinde made this known to reporters at Fashola Farm in Ibadan on Saturday after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) retreat.

Makinde emphasised that nobody could push his political agenda and that he would announce his intentions explicitly.

He recalled his 2019 governorship election where he was considered an outsider without political experience, but the people of Oyo State gave him a chance.

He highlighted his infrastructural projects and declared that he had created sustainable institutions and ensured good governance.
