Bauchi Assembly Bags NUJ ‘Most Progressive Assembly’ Award

Bauchi State House of Assembly has won the Nigeria Union of Journalists Bauchi State Council’s ‘Most Progressive Assembly’ award.
The Award was presented to the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman alongside his colleagues, during the NUJ award presentation and magazine launching in Bauchi.
A statement from the Spokesperson of Speaker of the Assembly, Comrade Abdul Ahmad Burra, said the Union noted that the 9th Assembly of Bauchi State has made tremendous achievements within two years of its inauguration.
According to the NUJ, the Assembly has put aside party differences and worked for the development of Bauchi State which led to the various achievements recorded by Governor Bala Mohammad.
NUJ observed that the Assembly under speaker Abubakar Suleiman having APC as majority while the PDP carries the minority and one member from NNPP has common desire for positive change.
According to the Union, “that is what informed the decision of the 31 Members to put party differences behind them, embraced each other and put the interest of the State first”.
It said that the 9th Assembly has done creditably well in its function of lawmaking, appropriation of funds to all MDAs, conduct of oversight of all the activities of MDAs and representation of various Constituencies.
The NUJ said, all the achievements have been made possible by the good leadership qualities of Governor Bala Mohammed of the state who holds the legislative arm with high esteem.
The NUJ attributed the successes and the mutual relationship between the rancour free Assembly and the executive, to the principle of inclusive governance the executive arm operates by aligning with the legislature in policy formulation and execution.
They also observed that the synergy has led to massive road constructions, housing schemes, water supply, improved security, better education, agriculture and the general wellbeing of the people of Bauchi State.
Receiving the award on behalf of the 9th Assembly of Bauchi State, Speaker Abubakar Suleiman expressed the appreciation of the legislative arm to NUJ for the prestigious award which he said will motivate them to continue doing more for the State.

The new system enables the state to receive supplies directly from manufacturers, ensuring that every batch of drugs can be traced and any problems swiftly addressed.This development is a significant step towards eliminating substandard medications and improving the overall quality of healthcare in the state.Deri emphasized that the centralization of drug procurement with reliable data has not only improved efficiency but also reduced costs, making medicines more affordable for both the poor and the general public. Governor Fintiri’s prioritization of healthcare has been instrumental to the agency’s success, and the state’s swift establishment of the Health Supply Management Agency has been recognized nationally.The agency’s recapitalization has also revitalized the pharmacy profession in the state, with pharmacists who previously left the state for better opportunities returning to Adamawa. The government has provided all necessary working tools, encouraging pharmacists to join the civil service.With newly built hospitals, upgraded facilities, and a steady supply of quality drugs, the Adamawa State Health Supply Management Agency is setting a new standard for healthcare delivery in the region. A US based Film Director, Taiwo Oduala has commended the unprecedented achievements and humanitarian services being rendered to the less privileged by philanthropists and corporate organisations.Oduala gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen on Monday in Lokoja.
