He noted that the present administration in Kogi State showed an unrelenting commitment to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and professionally.
Narrating the achievements of Governor Ododo in the educational sector, the Kabiru said “Among the many laudable achievements of Governor Ododo’s administration, the following stand out: Increase in Bursary Allowance: The recent increment and digitization of bursary payments to students across KogiState is a clear indication that this administration values education and is committed to alleviating the financial burden on students and their families. This move will provide much-needed relief and encouragement to students, allowing us to focus more on our academic pursuits.”Improvement in Infrastructure: Under the consolidation leadership of Governor Ododo, several tertiary institutions in Kogi State have seen remarkable infrastructural upgrades. From new classroom blocks, lecture halls, and laboratories, road networks to better-equipped libraries, hostels, and administrative offices, the improved learning environment has made a significant difference in our academic experiences.“Enhanced Security on Campuses: The safety and security of students have always been a priority for this administration. We appreciate the deliberate steps taken to improve campus security, ensuring that we can study in a peaceful and safe atmosphere. The installation of security equipment and the deployment of more security personnel across campuses have greatly reduced cases of insecurity, allowing students to focus on their studies without fear.“Support for Technological Advancements and Digital Learning: Recognizing the role of technology in modern education, His Excellency has also championed the integration of technology into our educational systems. We appreciate the open-door policy of this administration, which has allowed us to engage constructively with government officials on issues affecting students. This has fostered a sense of belonging and encourages student participation in governance. He called on students across the Country to support the administration of Governor Ododo in transforming Kogi State, adding that they should resist any individual who intends to cause division in the State. The leadership of students from tertiary institutions across Kogi State was all in attendance during the press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat in Lokoja.

The Forum of Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has decried the deplorable condition of some federal roads in Nigeria. Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the North-Central Chairman of the forum, said this in an interaction with newsmen on Wednesday in Jos. Zazzaga described some of the federal roads as ”death traps”, particularly those within the north-central region.

He said that some of the deplorable roads in the region include Jos-Akwanga, Makurdi-Oturkpo-Otukpa, Makurdi-Ankpa, and Jos-Saminaka.
Other roads that needed urgent attention, he said, included Suleja-Minna, Ejule-Otukpa, Ganawuri-Manchok, Lokoja-Abuja, Lapai-Agaie-Bida, Birnin-Gwari-Bokani-Mokwa, Minna-Zungeru-Tegina-Kontagora.
”Currently, the north-central region has the most deplorable roads and highways in the country. ”These deplorable roads have brought severe hardship on the people and lost lives and property through preventable road traffic crashes. ”We call on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and ensure the rehabilitation of these roads because good roads are vital enablers of development,” he said. The chairman also called on governors of states within the region to reconstruct the dilapidated roads and seek refunds from the federal government. ”Though these are largely federal roads, they are located within states, and the beneficiaries are the people of these states. ”So we call on state governments to reconstruct these roads and seek refunds from the federal government,” he added.
