One of the aspirants, Hon.
Naanyil Magdalene Ben said no primaries was held in the locality talk more of winners emerging, as electoral officials of the party were not seen for any exercise.Hon. Nannyil a former Supervisory Councilor for Health, maintained that Governor Simon Lalong must step in to ensure that the right thing is done for the common good of the party in Qua’an Pan LGA, the state and the country at large.
According to the aspirant, “I want to state that there was no APC primaries both for Councillorship, and Chairmanship positions in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
“We waited from morning to evening in our various Wards yesterday without any election and there was no any election official at various sites. We have it on good authority that one Mr. Ernest Da’a has been selected for the Chairmanship primaries election and we do not accept this undemocratic stance in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.”
An APC chieftain Mr. Ali Katyen from Kwande Ward who also spoke at the protest said no election was held in the locality. “We have been waiting for election to be conducted but to no avail, we tried to reached out to some other critical stakeholders as to what the reason is was not forthcoming. So, to the best my knowledge, no election has been conducted and I think is inimical to our democratic processes, is repugnant to natural justice, equity and fairness.
“This is political brigantine of the highest order and this is something we must nip in the bud. Mr. Governor is a democrat and not an autocrat, those who are moving around banditing his name that he has instructed them to pick a particular candidate that is favoured for the office of the Chairmanship is a liar. I am appealing to Mr. Governor to call them to order because this will undermine our peace in Qua’an Pan LGA.”
According to them the party’s primary which is by congress did not hold across the 20 State Wards in the locality as at the time of filling this report.
The APC Electoral officers meant to spearhead the conduct of the party’s primaries in Qua’an Pan LGA were Hon. Exzo, Mr. Henry Lekman, and Mr. Bendel Nanchuwat respectively.
According to the PLASIEC revised election timetable, all parties primaries are expected to end within “Thursday 3rd June to 23rd June 2021.”
