The President of Eggon Youth Movement (EYM) Worldwide, Chief Isaac Kigbu, has promised to pay the registration fees of students from across the 38 branches of the movement in Nigeria writing West African Examination Council (WAEC).Kigbu made this known on Saturday during the occasion of their swearing/ handing over ceremony at Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The EYM president, while pledging to provide a responsive government, said the payment of the WAEC fees was his contribution to the educational development of the beneficiaries. “We have a four points agenda; which are unity of purpose and cooperation, reorientation/reorganization, responsibility/accountability, and youth empowerment and skills acquisition.“By God’s grace, we are going to achieve the four points agenda for development to thrive,” he said.Kigbu has solicited for support from all and sundry to enable them to succeed.Earlier, the Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Council, Alhaji Danlami Idris, urged the new leadership of EYM Worldwide to initiate good policies that would promote unity and harmony among Eggon nation and their neighbours. The chairman, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Benjamin Manga, said that the importance of peace to societal development cannot be overemphasised, hence the need for hands to be on deck.“Youths are the agents of peace. Let’s continue to embrace peace and unity in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy,” he urged.While congratulating the new leadership of the association, the chairman also enjoined them to carry all youths of the association along.He called on the people of the state to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.The Guest speaker, Dr Charles Agum of the Department of Economics, Federal University Lafia, who spoke on “The Role of Youths in Embracing Peace and Unity in Eggon Nation”, appealed to the youth to live in unity and peace with one another for development to thrive.In his farewell speech, Mr Daniel Anyuabaga, the outgone president of EYM, said he has promoted peace, security, and unity among Eggon nation and other nationalities during his tenure.He urged the members of the association and other people to give their maximum support to the new leadership to succeed.Anyuabaga pledged his determination to contribute positively to the development of the association.While inaugurating the new officials, the EYM Legal Adviser, Mr Ayiwulu Baba, urged them to abide by the oath taken in the interest of peace and development.The News reports that other executive members of the association inaugurated included Dahiru Angba as Vice President; Chief Awayi Kuje – Secretary General; Aku Angbashim – Assistant Secretary General; Faith Awa Maji – Treasurer, and Asele Amos – Financial Secretary.Others were Mr Dennis Alaku – PRO 1, Paulina Ango – PRO 2, Umbugadu Bala – Auditor 1, Haruna Joseph – Auditor 2, Jeremiah Musa – Welfare Secretary, Alex Madaki – Director of Social and Culture, while Allu Danladi was sworn in as the Provost Marshal.Highlights of the event included oath taking, presentation of the association’s documents to the newly sworn-in executive by the former officials led by Anyuaba.Official unveiling of EYM National Decretariat as well as Eggon interlude by Anzalu’s and Ubbe traditional dancers trolled guests at the occasion.
