Abia Imposes Curfew to Effect COVID-19 Contact Tracing

Abia State Government has imposed a 6pm – 6am curfew, effective from Monday 26 across all LGAs of the state.


Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said that this measure was to expedite action on the contact tracing of the two index cases.


Contact tracing of the cases begun last week and over 200 contacts have been traced.


The governor has directed commissioners and local government transition committee chairmen to ensure strict compliance with the curfew in their areas or face sanctions.


The state is expanding the palliative distribution committee to accommodate selected members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Christian Association of Nigeria, Presidents- General of Development Associations among others.

  1. Nice one by Gov OVI…Just that some part of this city is stubborn, It’s more like those evening time that walking around looks sweeter. I trust most Abians are keeping to this order anyways. Covid 19 won’t trend in Abia..Not at all, Las las we’ll be alright. I see the task force from our upstairs, they’re doing very well.Kudos to those guys!
