Again, Gunmen Kill 1, kidnap 3, in Kuje

Barely three days after gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted nine persons including a 12 year -old-child and put one  in critical condition in the  hospital, gunmen again abducted another Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC)  officer along side his wife and one of his children at Dafara community in Kuje area council of the FCT.

A resident of the community, Shedrack Musa, said the incident happened around 8:38 pm when the kidnappers invaded the community late Wednesday, through the bush and abducted the NSCDC officer with his wife and one of his children.

He said a member of the vigilante group at the community, which he identified as Williams was shot dead by the kidnappers when some vigilante members attempted to Prevent them.

According to him, the gunmen opened fire on the door of the NSCDC officer’s apartment, in which they entered the house and whisked him away along side his wife and one of his children.

“They shot and destroyed the key of the NSCDC officer house before they now have access into the house and took him away with his wife and one of their children, ” he said.

He added “it was the sound of the gun shot that attracted the attention of the vigilante members as they try to go after the gunmen, in which one of the kidnappers opened fire and killed one of the vigilante members, ” he said.

Also, the Chairman of Pegi Community Development Association (PECDA) Mr. Taiwo Aderibigbe, while speaking with our reporter via telephone, confirmed the incident, saying “you can imagine after 78 hours another civil defense officer, his wife and one of his child were again abducted at Dafara, ” he said.

Aderibigbe, said ” Abuja is under siege,  that is just the truth of the matter as some people are playing politics with our lives, which is uncalled for, “he added.

When contacted, the spokesman of the FCT police command, DSP Anjuguri Manza, said the command will soon issue a statement regarding the latest kidnap incident at Dafara.
