Family members Turn Tanker Driver Over to COVID-19 Task Force in Minna

The fear of the rampaging  COVID-19 pandemic is the beginning  of wisdom, as a family in Limawa Ward, Minna metropolis, refused a family member from entering the family house after returning  from a Lagos trip.

Trouble started for the embattled Tanker driver when he returned from a Lagos trip but was denied access to his apartment by other family members  who insisted that, he must report himself to the state Task Force against COVID -19.

According to  a family member, Umar  who spoke to  DAILY ASSET on phone said their  insistence forced their brother to report himself to the Task Force  isolation  centre at the Minna General Hospital for them to run test on him.
He said their decision was informed by the reality  of the coronavirus pandemic in the  country and their desire not to take chances in view of large nature of the family compound.

” As painful as our decision Is, we have to take the hard decision when we noticed  he was coughing  unabatedly and sneezing, which we were told  are some of the symptoms of the virus”
Niger state commissioner of health and hospital management board and a member of the state COVID- 19 Task Force, Dr. Makun Sidi who confirmed the story said it was as a result of the awareness created in the state.
The commissioner confirmed that, the Driver was with the Task Force on isolation to be monitored and  possible Carry out the  necessary test to ascertain his true status.
” You know that, in view of  the  current  pandemic, when people  notice some one coughing and sneezing persistently, they infer to the  rampaging COVID- 19,” he stated.
