The Niger State Police Command has bursted the criminal activities of four ex- convicts and five others in its ongoing effort at curbing criminality in the State.According to a crime buttetine made available to DailyAsset on Thursday, the State Command Public Relations Officer SP WasiuAbiodun said on the on the 4th of April 2024 at about 0250hrs, based on a direct complaint received from the Brighter area of Minna, that some suspected armed robbers invaded a residence within the area, robbed the victim and carted away one Honda Odyssey vehicle and other valuables.

He said the Police operatives attached to Crack Squad of the Command swung into action, with the aid of technical intelligence and information received from the Community, the following notorious suspects were arrested.”Yahaya Mohammed of Kpakungu area, Ayuba Simon (Douglas), Menasse Makama and Nuhu Azuka (Junior).”During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and other previous thuggery and armed robberies, in which they had previously served jail terms.According to him, the confessions of the suspects led to the recovery of the Honda Odyssey vehicle with Reg. No. AG 400 PAK, one POS machine, a Samsung TV, two standing fans and other valuables from them.However, the suspects are under investigation at the Crack Squad office, Minna and they will be charged to court for prosecution at the conclusion of the investigation.Similarly, a complaint was received from the Tayi village area of Minna at GRA Div that one Abdullahi Imman a.k.a Abba 53yrs of Tayi village had been engaging in sexual exploitation with some children within the Community at his provisions shop.The Police operatives attached to GRA Div arrested the suspect, and during interrogation, he confessed that he usually lured the children who are between the ages of 6-11yrs, comprising eight girls and a boy to his shop with biscuits and other sweets.He confessed further that he engaged in this act with the children through the use of his finger into their private parts. He said he had been into this act since March, 2024.He confirmed that he is married and he has seven children, but he just found himself in this unfortunate act. The suspect has been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and diligent prosecution, while the children were being taken to hospital for a medical examination.Meanwhile, while Workers were observing the May worker’s day a lone robber was busy robbing Female students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna at her off campus residence.”About 0300hrs, a distress call was received that suspected robbers were robbing female students in their hostel in Bosso area of Minna”The Police patrol team attached to Bosso Div quickly rushed to the scene and arrested one Mustapha Musa 19yrs of Old Kwata area of Bosso from the ceiling at the scene.”The following exhibits were recovered from suspects; One sharp knife ,Seven phones robbed from the students, two power banks two ear-pods and abag “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a notorious robber who was identified to have perpetrated a similar act at Bosso campus second gate around February this year.The suspect is under investigation and will soon be transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution accordingly.In a related development, four thugs were also apprehended by the police on their ongoing crackdown with thuggery and Substance abuse within Minna metropolis.
