In continuation of its urban renewal effort Niger state government has awarded road contracts totalling the sum of N1.5 billion.
The contracts awarded to two indegenious construction is expected to be completed within t8 dry months duration.
Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ibrahim Ahmed Panti made the disclosure at government house Minna while briefing newsmen after the state executive council meeting.
According to him, the State executive council stated approved the award of the contract for the dualization of 2.
He explained that, the road at the heart of Minna metropolis is earmarked to for dualization in order to decongest traffic at the Tunga axis of the state capital.
The state executive council, the commissioner disclosed also approved the contract of six additional number roads in Kontagora town.
He said the cost of the new road project is over N300 million as most of the roads in the town are in a deplorable condition over the year.
Engineer Panti noted that the new road project in the town will bring the existing and ongoing road contracts to over twenty kilometres at a total cost of N1.035,852,486.
Engr. Panti further ravelled that the state government is considering the renovation of the entire state secretariat complex after a bill of quantity is submitted.
