A non-governmental organization (NGO), Face of Joy Charity Foundation has taken drastic steps to eradicate the healthcare challenges of Nigerians especially of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), stressing the needed approaches to handle some ailments and diseases with emphasis on the importance of proper medication usage, and the necessity of completing the prescribed course for optimal health outcomes.

While providing free Medical Checks up recently in Abuja, founder of the Foundation Dr. Ezinne Ijeoma, stressed the importance of regular health check-ups.She revealed that the outreach was a vital component of the foundation’s mission to improve the health and well-being of various communities. Besides, she said the initiative underscores the foundation’s dedication to making healthcare accessible, particularly in rural areas where medical services are often scarce and difficult to come by.“Our goal is to bridge the gap in healthcare disparities and ensure that every individual, regardless of their socio-economic status, receives the care they deserve,” Ijeoma Stated.The successful conduct of this Medical outreach campaign was a firm step by the Foundation towards improving public healthcare in Nigeria by catering for the welfare of the Aged, Widows, Youth and Children, the poorest of the poor and the deprived in the society.Towards achieving its goals, the Foundation was working in conjunction with similar and other establishments to create healthcare empowerment packages and programmes for the aged, Widows, youths and Women through practical training in effective approaches to health and other skill acquisitions.Ijeoma who is also a gender activist was of the view that in the nearest future, the Foundation would make provision of small capital for beneficiaries to start small businesses and to educate the Youths especially on the dangers and effects of Drugs Abuse, its addiction and to intensify campaigns against it.The Medical Practitioner maintained that the Foundation is billed to promote social interaction among people with disabilities and to share knowledge in health and business advancement for the benefit of members in particular and Nigerians at large.The outreach drew overwhelming response from the local residents, who face struggles in accessing adequate healthcare due to financial limitations. People from various socioeconomic backgrounds patiently lined up to avail themselves of the free medical services. Many of the beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the foundation’s efforts in tackling their healthcare challenges.
