Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has put a wide smile on the faces of patients on admission at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau, when he distributed medical financial assistance to many male and female patients in some wards in the hospital.
He gave the humanitarian assistance at the weekend, when he paid a visit to his government house Cameraman Muktar Isma’il who was on admission at the hospital’s accident ward and the former chairman, Gusau local government council, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdullahi Gaula.
Soon after consoling the two patients, governor Bello decided to walk across to the male medical ward where he moved from bed to bed consoling the patients and praying for their quick recovery.
The governor then dished out financial aid to every patient in the male ward, maternity, accident and emergency wards who received amounts ranging between N50,000, N100,000 and up to N200,000 to cater for their medial bills.
A total of N9.6 million naira was distributed to the patients by the governor, who advised them to consider their condition as decrees by Allah as a way of testing their faith.
Matawalle then gave a directive to refer the former chairman from the hospital to a teaching hospital for better treatment, while the state government will shoulder the medical bills.
He said his decision to visit the hospital was to see for himself the conditions of his people at the State- owned hospital and assess the problems to see how best he could improve all the hospitals across the state.
