Umar Yar’Adua and Gabriel Kayod are set to face off in a three-round boxing bout in Abuja on Saturday.

Yar’Adua announced the bout on his Instagram page, @umar.yaraduuaa, on Wednesday, inviting followers to attend the event scheduled for Saturday.

According to him, the bout will take place at the Lavish Loft Lounge, Gwarinpa, Abuja, from 6 p.

Yar’Adua said tickets for the event would be sold for N2, 000, adding that an after-party would follow the boxing contest.

“Comment ‘FIGHT’ and I’ll send you the ticket link for my fight happening this Saturday,” he wrote.

The promotional poster described the contest as “three rounds of pure boxing” and listed Lavish Loft Lounge and The Playground as presenters.

Yar’Adua, who has built a following on social media, has increasingly used his platforms to document his interest in boxing and other personal pursuits.

His transition into the sport has generated reactions online, with followers expressing varying views about his decision to take up boxing.

In a recent video shared on Instagram, Yar’Adua said boxing appealed to him because it provided an avenue to test him independently of his background and public expectations.

He said stepping into the ring meant that his family name could not determine the outcome of the contest.

The video-sharing platform confirmed the permanent ban on Wednesday, citing multiple infractions of its community guidelines.

The enforcement shuts down the creator’s main short-form video hub, where he built a massive audience of 5.

The development has triggered reactions online, with fans expressing shock that an account with such a large following could disappear from the platform.

Several users, including fans and commentators, on X (formerly Twitter) have expressed concerns over platform restrictions and the loss of years of audience growth.

Reacting to the development, @Olamide0fficial, posted: “Losing an account that took you years to build is one of the hardest things ever; hopefully, he gets the account back”.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Neche said she believes she could have won the show if she had stayed, citing the overwhelming public support she received after her exit.

In an interview with Pulse, Neche reflected on her mindset during the competition and the reception she received after leaving the house.

”Honestly, at week two, I was convinced I could win the show, but, I mean, that was just every regular housemate’s conviction,” Neche stated.

The reality star said the level of support from fans outside the house far exceeded her expectations.

“I was surprised as to what I saw outside, mind you. It was like times ten of what I expected… I thought to myself like, ‘I might not win, but I can get to the finals?’ So yeah, I think I would have won. Even now more so”, she added.

Neche voluntarily walked away from the show and the N160 million grand prize.

She attributed the decision to personal circumstances but declined to give details.

“I feel like there were personal circumstances and a lot of situation that led to my decision, the detail I would like to keep private but at the same time I’m very confident about my decision I’m at peace with it,” she said.

On forfeiting the prize money, Neche acknowledged its weight and that she had envisioned staying longer.

However, she maintained that she does not regret choosing herself.

“Honestly, I don’t regret choosing myself above everything else because at the end of the day you are what matters but 160 million was a lot of money. I had also envisioned myself staying in the house longer,” she added.
