University of Abuja (UniAbuja), yesterday said no fewer than 10,331 would participate in its 24th convocation ceremony slated for Saturday, February 15, 2020.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’ Allah, who disclosed this at a press briefing to herald the event, explained that the increase in the number of graduating students was as a result of some students who were omitted from previous exercises due to one academic challenge or the other, adding that most of the graduands are from the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDLCE).
He said that 26 students made first class, 866 students made second class upper division, 2, 317 students made second class lower division, 339 made third class, while 52 students would graduate with Pass.
He also said that the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, and two others would be given honorary doctorate degree in recognition of their of their c ontributionin to national development.
The VC also told journalists at this press conference which held at the permanent site of the school, in Abuja, that the graduates would receive their certificates on the convocation ground.
He said that in his past few months as the Vice Chancellor, he introduced great transformational policies that would in no distant time, redefine university education, impacting greater knowledge and skills to students, thus making them global citizens.
