Nigerian Afrobeat megastar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has addressed the ongoing child custody dispute with Sophia Momodu, mother of his first daughter, saying, all he asked for is  joint parenting.

Reports says that the matter is currently a subject of litigation before the court.

Davido also expressed displeasure over Sophia’s usual reference to the death of his son, who died in 2022.

Davido, in an Instagram story wrote: “Your constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point you can to just remind us of this tragedy that haunts us everyday of our lives.

“Imade will grow up to see I fought for her .. as for now u can have her P.

S she won’t be a child forever.. enjoy Imade Aurora Adeleke ! Your father loves you!

“All I ask for is JOINT CUSTODY !! And nothing else! But cus it’s ‘Davido’ yall wanna act like yall can’t read. Smh .. I’m off this! Yall be blessed and I pray this never happens to you.

“Joint custody – Both parents will have access to the child. Sole custody – Only a single parent will have access to the child .”

Meanwhile, Momodu, told a Lagos State High Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, not to grant the child’s custody to the musician.

She told the court on Friday that the applicant was not fit to be granted custody of their daughter because he is always not available and does not possess the ability to dutifully care for her.

She stated this in a counter-affidavit she filed in opposition to Davido’s suit seeking custody.

Reports says that contrary to Davido’s claim that he had consistently fulfilled his financial obligations toward his daughter, Momodu told the court that the child was almost sent away from school because the artiste refused to pay her tuition fees.

According to her, while their relationship lasted, Davido never showed true commitment or love toward their daughter. (NAN)

I Learnt Humility from Wole Soyinka, Says Ara

Female talking drummer, Aralola Olumuyiwa, popularly known as “Ara”, says Nigerian Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, taught her humility.

Ara said this in an interview on Friday in Lagos while commending President Bola Tinubu for renaming the National Arts Theatre as Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.

The drummer urged the Federal Government to continue to honour thespians while alive.

“This development is highly welcome, the first black nobel laureate we have, honestly, he deserves more.

“He is 90, we don’t know how long we are going to have him here. I am very proud of him and his achievements. We should make it a habit to always honour our thespians.

“2007, my first encounter with Prof. Soyinka, I attended an event organised in his honour, so, I was invited as one of the artistes to perform, after the event, he invited me to his house where he asked me “Why the talking drum”?

“Also,  during my 40th birthday years ago, he sent goodwill messages to me, which meant a lot to me.

“I learnt humility from Prof. Soyinka, he does not allow anyone carry his bag, I was only opportune to carry his bag once, that was after dragging it from him. This speaks volumes to me,” she said.

Ara described Soyinka as a great respecter and lover of African culture, urging the younger generation to emulate such from him.

“Another virtue people should emulate from Soyinka is that he is a real and genuine individual,  so, I challenge everyone, dare to be you, dare to be different, don’t be anybody,” she said. (NAN)

Ace musician Kizz Daniel and his wife MJay Anidugbe are allegedly having challenges in their marriage over infidelity on the side of the artiste.

Fans of the sensational singer had recently raised concerns when he removed all footage of his wife from his social media page and his wife’s Instagram account was  as well disabled.

According to trending social media reports, the two lovebirds are having difficult times, as the ‘Buga’ crooner has allegedly been unrepentant and unfaithful to his marital vows, and this time his wife has refused to forgive him.

Kizz Daniel is said to have been ‘running helter-skelter’ to save his home, as relatives and friends try to intervene, but the wife has remained adamant, refusing to forgive him and continue with the marriage.

Although, neither Kizz Daniel nor his wife have confirmed the reports,  the singer had earlier  openly shared his struggles with adultery, among other personal challenges.

The couple who quietly exchanged vows in 2020, kept their marriage away from the public eye and the usual social media showcase, characteristic of celebrity marriage.

In May 2021,  Kizz Daniel announced  the arrival of  a set of triplets, though the identity of their mother was hidden.

He later revealed that he had lost one of the triplets just four days after birth.

Kizz Daniel and his wife have however maintained a low appearance on social media, refraining  from sharing any images of themselves and their  twins, Jelani and Jelil, both boys, on social media.

Unlike most celebrity wives, MJay Anidugbe maintains a reserved demeanour, preferring not to extensively share detail about her career or personal life on social media platforms.

However, on March 10 this year, the “Twe Twe” crooner decided to introduce his wife, MJay to the public through all his social media platforms, the date he also released an EP.

The couple was featured in a short clip joyfully dancing together,  and the artiste openly acknowledged his wife as the mother of his children.

The revelation however, stirred buzz  across social media platforms, as  many fans had remained  skeptical about his marital status,  leading to intense speculations and online debate.

The EP released date also coincide with the day MJay Anidugbe  secured an endorsement deal with Mikano Motors, and  Kiss Daniel took to his Instagram page to congratulate her.

He wrote: ““Congrats Wifey @mrsanidugbe  on bagging your first endorsement deal @mikanomotors, 7 days on scene proud of you.”

This public display of affection and encouragement further quell the social media  debate among Kizz Daniels fans if he was married or was keeping a baby daddy status. (NAN)
