Nigeria at 59: IGP Assures of Violence – free Celebrations

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Adamu on Monday, reassured citizens across the country of violence – free during the 2019 independence celebrations. 
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba made available to Daily asset in Abuja, the IGP has directed all commissioners of police and their supervisory assistant inspector – General of police in the state and zone commands to put in place necessary measures to ensure a peaceful and incident- free celebration across the country.


The IGP said that “particular attention should be concentrated on parade Grounds, Government and private infrastructure and all places of public resort and recreation centers”.

Adding that the personnel would also intensify patrol along all the major highways in the country. 
Adamu while congratulating president Mohammadu Buhari and the entire people of Nigeria on the nation’s 59th Independence Anniversary urged all citizens to hold firm the unity of the country despite all odds.
